The Home Buyer’s Guidebook

McArthur Homes has developed this Home Buyer’s Guidebook to help you understand the many steps involved in building your home, as well as the procedures used by McArthur Homes. By reviewing this guide early, you will have a better understanding of the workings of our company and understand your role, and required time commitment, in building a new home for your family. Naturally, there are several policies and schedules that must be adhered to in order to build a new home; the more familiar you are with these, the smoother and more enjoyable the experience will be for you and your family.

If you have any questions, as always, please contact your Community Sales Manager; they are always willing to help you.

The Home Maintenance Guide

More than 3,000 component parts went into building your new home. Thousands of people had a hand in producing them. Now the components are assembled into a fine and beautiful house for your enjoyment and comfort.

The manufacturers and trade contractors who made or installed the various parts and
equipment in your new house will be responsible for handling most of the service problems that arise during your warranty period. Other problems that occur will be your responsibility. This New Home Maintenance Guide booklet will help you understand what you must do to maintain your new home in proper working order and to keep problems to a minimum.

Getting to Know Your New Home

This New Home Maintenance Guide booklet has three purposes:

  • To give a general introduction to the most familiar components of today’s new homes.
  • To provide you with basic information needed to care for and maintain your new home.
  • To prepare you for the minor adjustments and repairs necessary in most new homes.

Some of the items listed are essential to every home and some are not. For instance, you may or may not have a fireplace, but you certainly will have a heating system and a water supply shut-off valve. Should you home ever require major repairs, call a specialist in the type of repairs needed. In most cases, major repairs should be left to qualified professionals.

A man and woman walk outside on a path near homes in Utah, swinging a young boy between them. The woman holds a baby in her other arm. Trees and grass line the sidewalk, and all appear happy and smiling.

Limited Warranty Guide

McArthur Homes is so committed to customer satisfaction that we put that commitment in writing. This Limited Warranty Guide will help you understand the limited warranty on your new home and the procedure for obtaining warranty service. Our Limited New Home Warranty Standards & Guidelines details each area of your home as well as what to expect and what to look for.
